Shivamogga: The Kuvempu University has come third in the Karnataka State Universities Ranking Framework’s (KSURF) list.
Addressing the media regarding this achievement, Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University Prof. Dr B P Veerabhadrappa said, “Although the Kuvempu University has ranked first in the list of top government universities, it has ranked third in the State Higher Education Department’s list out of 62 other universities.”
“Kuvempu University has secured 718 points out of 1000, causing it to be placed third. Manipal University has secured the first place and Karnataka Lingayat Education Society (KLE) University has come second,” he added.
He also said that registrar Prof. S S Patil and he had collected the rank certificate in Bengaluru on September 17, from the State Higher Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan.
“The Karnataka State Higher Education Department started this ranking system in 2017, based on quality and achievements. The five other main parameters are – knowledge creation, research, innovation, basic infrastructural facilities, and social relation,” he stated.
There are 27 different parameters that fall under the five main criteria on the basis of which the rankings are given. Besides this, there are several categories under which each university falls.
