KFD found in two villagers after three dead monkeys found in village

Shivamogga: Residents of the Mulugudde town in the Jeni gram panchayat of the Hosanagar taluk alerted the local representatives that three more dead monkeys were found in the area.

Officials from the health department arrived at the scene and collected samples from the dead bodies, which were then sent to the lab to test for the Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) virus.

Later, two of the villagers, who had been to the primary health centre in at Aralagodu village near Kargal of the Sagar taluk, were found to have symptoms of KFD, also known as monkey fever.
