Shivamogga: A woman suffering from the Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) fever died at a private hospital in Manipal. She hailed from Sagar taluk in Shivamogga district.
It is the first KFD death of the year 2020. Four persons have been tested positive for the fever till now. Deceased has been identified as Hoovamma (58), a resident of Sigemakki village. She was declined KFD vaccination citing her age and High Blood Pressure.
Her final rites will be held at her house today. Senior officials of the health department have rushed to the village.
