Shivamogga: On Sunday, over 12,000 tourists from across the state visited the Jog falls in Shivamogga district. Thanks to a fake photo circulated widely on social media showing water falling in full capacity. Meanwhile, locals expressed fear of cluster outbreak.
According to the Jog falls management authority, over 12,000 tourists visited the falls on Sunday. The tourists arrived in hundreds of vehicles including two-wheelers and cars. Many of these tourists were from Bengaluru, who assumed that due to the rain and flood, they can enjoy the serene beauty.
However, to the disappointment of the tourists, the water was very less in the falls.
Meanwhile locals expressed apprehension that the huge flow of traffic may cause Covid 19 cluster outbreak.
“There are no testing facilities locally. No quality medical care if the Covid 19 outbreak reports. The government should ban tourism activities atleast this year,” urged locals.
