Shivamogga: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa lost his cool on the district forest and police officials, on Saturday during a review meeting held to discuss flood relief.

MLA Ashok Naik brought to the notice of the house that police and the forest officials register complaints about the simplest of reasons. “When people clear the drains on the roadside, they register complaints,” he said.

To everyone’s shock, the CM turned to Superintendent of Police Shantharaju and said, “do you want to be transferred to a drought-hit place? “

What raged the CM further was the absence of the Deputy Conservator of Forest.

Sagara MLA Harathala Halappa said that the forest officials are confiscating equipment of small fishermen in Linganamakki area, alleging that these licensed fishermen venture into fishing in forest areas.

The CM sternly asked the forest officials to return the confiscated equipment and not harass the small fishermen.
