Shivamogga: The District Congress Committee staged a protest against the Central government's failure to tackle unemployment in the country (along with several other issues) at Shivappa Nayaka Circle, on Saturday, October 19.
The protestors alleged that the Central and state government had failed to provide employment opportunities to youths, economically-backward class citizens, and flood victims.
The female unit of the Congress party cooked pakodas and distributed it to the public in an apparent jibe at PM Modi's "pakoda-seller" comments.
The party workers said, “The state and the Centre have failed in many areas by banning media coverage, malnutrition, negligence of farmers and business class, inadequate fund release towards the flood victims, economic crisis, and others.”
MLC R Prasanna Kumar, District Congress President Sundaresh, former MLA H M Chandrashekhar, and others were present.
