Shivamogga: Congress MLA from Bhadravathi, B.K. Sangameshwara made a video viral and stated that an immediate action must be taken against the culprits in the video or else warned of a Bhadravathi Bandh. This action by the MLA followed the untoward incident held on the night of Sunday February 28 during the two-day Pro Kabaddi championship held here.

Elaborating on the issue, he said that legal proceedings have to be taken against Dharmaprasad and Rudresh from BJP and Sunil and Nakul from Bajrang Dal, who he alleges to have instigated communal violence during the championship.

“On the final day of the pro-Kabaddi championship, these miscreants tried to set the Kabaddi mat on fire. This is a ploy to defame my followers and me,” he alleged.

The incident took place during prize distribution ceremony where the MLA’s followers and BJP’s Dharmaprasad and his group men had a skirmish.

“This incident was plotted to malign my followers and me as the championship was well appreciated by the public. I have complete faith in police department that they would take lawful action against the culprits. If the department does not take any action, I will call for Bhadravathi Bandh on Tuesday March 2.”

He also warned that KPCC president D.K. Shivakumar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be asked to be part of the bandh.
