Bengaluru: Rajan of Rajan-Nagendra pair, which gave musical hits like Banallu Neene Bhuviyallu Neene, Bandeya Balina Belakagi, Endendu Ninnanu Maretu Badukiralare, Navaduva Nudiye Kannada Nudi, Neera Bittu Nelada Mele etc passed awa during late hours of Sunday, at his residence in Hebbal. He was 85 years.
He died due to cardiac attack at his residence. His final rites to be held today.
Rajan-Nagendra duo is one of the most popular music composers and directors of Kannada.
They have given music for over 400 films. Among them 300 are in Kannada. Rest of the songs are for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Sinhalese language films.
Gandhada Gudi, Shrinivasa Kalyana, etc are the most popular movies of this dup. Rajan has a son and a daughter.
The duo basically hails from Mysuru. They started their career in the year 1952. Till 1999 they were active in the film industry.
Nagendra died in the year 2000 itself. Since then Rajan had not been very active.
