Bengaluru: After stoking a controversy by distorting the ‘Sharana’ folk song ‘Kolumande Jangamadeva’, a complaint has been lodged in Mysuru against Rapper Chandan Shetty by Kamsale Mahadevaiah Kala Sangha.
It may be recalled that a section of people from Old Mysuru region had raised objection to the latest song of the rapper and its obscene picturisation, citing that it not only hurts the sentiments of the followers of the Sharana cult, but it also shows Sharane Sankamma in bad light.
After the controversy, Shetty tendered an apology and also promised to re-shoot the entire song. However, the Sangha has now sternly said that they will not give any scope for re-shoot of the song at all.
The Sangha has also asked the rapper to refrain from distorting songs that hold religious significance.
A complaint will also be lodged with the Censore Board, said that Sangha members.
One complaint has already been lodged against the rapper at Cubbon Park police station by the Bajrang Dal.
