“Lungi” is all set to release this Friday across Karnataka and is expected to get a good response at the box office. Here are five reasons why one must watch this film in theatres:

1. Mangaluru Kannada

Kannada films were limited to Kannada dialects of Bengaluru, Mysuru and the Mandya belt. However, from the past few years, we have been getting films which use the Mangaluru dialect as the main langauge. Successful films like “Ulidavaru Kandanthe”, “Ondu Motteya Kathe” and “Sarkari Hiriya Prarthamika Shale” had the Mangaluru dialect of the language. It now looks like “Lungi” will also feature in this list.

2. Trailer

They say that a trailer is like an invitation. Only if the trailer is good will the people watch the film in theatres. With high ticket prices and easy access to films in digital media, people go only to theatres to watch films if they love the trailer. “Lungi” has won in this field as the trailer has become a big hit.

3. New Team

Sandalwood has been a great platform for new talents. The team behind “Lungi” is extremely talented and has already been praised for the work. Arjun Lewis, who is a co-director for the film, is well-known in the Tulu film industry for his lyrics. He has also written the lyrics for superhit Kannada film “Chamak”.

4. Music

Prasad K Shetty has composed music. Two songs of the film, “Waste Body” and “Nagabeda Ande Naanu” have been praised by music lovers. Only the lyrical songs have been released on YouTube so far and the people would love to watch them on the big screen.

5. Good message

As the trailer of the film indicates, it has a great message for youngsters who want to do something on their own. The message has also been delivered in a humorous way as evident in the trailer.

The film has been made under Khara Entertainment’s banner and is directed by Arjun Lewis and Akshith Shetty. The technical crew includes music composer Prasad K Shetty, cinematographer Rijo P John, editor Manu Shedgarr, art director Mahesh Yenmuru and co-director Rakshith Rai. Pranva Hegde plays the male lead while Ahalya Suresh and Radhika Rao play the female leads. Prakash Thuminadu, VJ Vineeth, Karthik Varadaraju, Deepak Rai Panaje and Roopa Vorkady play pivotal roles in the film.

Catch the film at a theatre close to you.
