Bengaluru: The Malleshwaram police have registered an FIR against actress Nivedita for comparing Ganja with Tulasi which is considered sacred among Hindus.
While defending the use of ganja, Nivedita had claimed that it has medicinal qualities and is as pious as Tulasi. She argued for legalizing ganja use.
Alleging that her statements hurt the sentiments of Hindus, Deepak, a resident of Malleshwaram lodged a complaint against the actress.
Police are likely to summon Nivedita for inquiry today.
