Kannada filmdom is closely related with TV serials.On one hand, Sandalwood is crying that Kannada movies have no viewers and it does not becomes box-office hits, while on the other hand, Kannada TV serials are successful in viewership. The majority of Kannada TV channels are successful in captivating the viewers with scintillating reality shows. Now a days several Kannada channels are using new innovative ideas in hundreds of their programmes in order to get more TRP.
In this kind off rat race ,its not so easy for an anchor to hold the attention of viewers at all time.
One such girl is Anushree VJ and host from Mangalore,known for her cheerful nature and friendly demeanour, who has been quite successful with her sensational anchoring and is popular face across Karnataka.
Anushree has been a regular in the television scene for the last eight years. A born entertainer, Anushree loves people watching her on TV.
She got her first break in Namma TV, later in ETV.She joined Zee TV, Kasturi TV and successfully anchored several of their programmes. Her most popular TV programmes are Comedy Kiladigalu, 
Twenty Twenty Comedy Cup, Namaste Kasturi, Super, Dance Karnataka Dance and others. She became a sensation after being featured in Big Boss programme.
In an exclusive Chit-Chat with Anushree the young youth sensation.She shared memories from her childhood and about her future plans with Newskarnataka readers.
Tell us a few things about your childhood and how you got into anchoring?
I am originally a Mangalorean but born in Bangalore. I studied till Class five in Bangalore and further continued my studies at Narayana Guru School, Mangalore. After I completed my college here,I returned back to Bangalore. While I was in college itself I was called for an audition , by Namma TV . Well I got chosen and started working for them as an anchor, it was only few days in a week. Meanwhile, I got a call from ETV and joined them after my studies. I worked with Zee TV, Kasturi
TV and rejoined ETV now.
Share us your Big Boss experience?
It was indeed a unique experience . I was all excited when I got a call from Big Boss TV serial conveners. I was happy that I am capable of taking part in Big Boss.
First few days I felt a bit camera conscious, but gradually got used to it. One cannot act for long , at one point of time the real you comes out. Well besides that I was fortunate to make many friends and the only sad part was we had no choice but to nominate each other.Since we were all part of a game. Nikita and me were good friends and she knew that I had nominated her.
More than anything, the most difficult part for me was to be away from home.We had no contact with outside world and were not even allowed to carry pen or paper, forget about mobile phones. It was just like a prison.
Has the participation in Big Boss affected you professionaly?
First of all, I joined Big Boss to win. If the prize money is Rs 50 lac no one will deny the challenge. More than that I wanted to get more connected with the audience .My fans have changed their perception and notion about me after my participation in Big Boss. They are convinced that I am not just a glamour girl but since the got to see the real me. Now I am more closer to my fans. Therefore, participating in Big Boss has indeed brought me name and fame.
Who are your favourites in Big Boss now?
Certainly, my first choice is Vijay Raghavendra and then Arun or Nikita.
Being a sucessfull TV anchor ,you are now going to be a sucessfull star. whats the “sucess mantra”?
Initially we feared when sandalwood stars began anchoring in TV and even thought I will have to return home without scope. But there was someting in store for me ,I became dear to viewers. I try my best to be friendly with Tv viewers and dont speak on literary terms which are difficult to understand to the viewers.Thats my success formula.
What are your future plans? Do you aspire to land in Sandalwood as well?
I am ready to join Sandalwood and have already finalized to act in a movie. One more is on the cards.I will inform you as and when its being done.
Is it true that you and Chris Gale are close friends?
Oh no..I cannot compare with his stature. We met during IPL and Chris said he liked my anchoring. I have also taught him a few Kannada words and that is it!!
What you do in your spare time other than anchoring?
I have a craze to watch movies in theaters, besides I watch TV at home. I also go to temples and go out with friends. I dont like to party , so you will never find me in any “Page 3” parties.
Who is your favorite TV anchor?
Appu… is my favorite anchor, followed by Dilipraj who was my colleague in ETV.
