After having helmed two acclaimed films, “Harivu” and “Nathicharami”, national award-winning director Mansore is back with his next- “Act 1978”.
A woman-centric film, “Act 1978” is a social thriller whose storyline has been penned by the director himself. Produced by Devraj R, the film features Yagna Shetty as the leading lady and has piqued the curiosity of the audience with its unique poster, where a pregnant Yagna shown holding a walkie talkie and a bomb tied to her waist, coupled with a determined look in her eyes.
The film is slated to hit theatres on November 20 and is the first new film from Sandalwood to have a full-fledged release since the start of the pandemic lockdown.
“Act 1978” also stars Pramod Shetty, B Suresha, Shruthi, and Achyuth Kumar, along with 28 other artistes.
Mansore has earnestly appealed to the Kannada cine goers to watch the film on the big screen and make it a huge success. “The success of this film is in the hands of the Kannada movie goers. It will encourage moviemakers like me and also solve many uncertainties which have cropped up after lockdown,” the director shared.
Satya Hegde is the film’s cinematographer, while Rahul Shivakumar has scored the music. The lyrics are penned by Jayanth Kaikini and Santhosh Panchal is the art director.
Mansore’s previous directorial, “Nathicharami” has received critical acclaim and has Sruthi Hariharan and Sanchari Vijay in the lead roles.
