Engineers Day 2019 celebrated by Institute of Engineers and KDKUEA
Mangaluru: Engineers Day 2019 was celebrated by The Institute of Engineers (India) Mangaluru Local Centre along with Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Engineers' Association, Institution of Valuares Mangaluru Branch and Puttur Association of Civil Engineers on the occasion of 159th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya on 15th September 2019 at Master Plannery, Nehrunagar, Puttur.
Padmashree Er. Girish Bharadwaj, Renowned Hanging Bridge Expert from Sulllia inaugurated the event. Er. Dr. KS Babu Narayan, Hon. Secretary, IEI, MLC, Er. Anand Kumar SK, Master Plannery, Nehrunagar, Puttur were the chief guests and Er BT Kantharaj, President, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Engineers' Association presided over the function.
On the occasion the Engineers Day 2019 Award was presented to Er. Rajendra Kalbhavi, MIE, Director, DK Nirmithi Kendra, Srinivasnagar and Dr Venugopal Shenoy, Master Plannery, Nehrunagar, Puttur.
Er. Dr. B R Samaga Young Civil Engineer Award was presented to Er Akshay SK, Master Plannery, Nehrunagar, Puttur. IEI, Mangaluru Local Centre Young Engineer award was presented to Er Atul Pai, Mangaluru.
Innovative farmer and creator of Tree Climber Sri K Ganapathi Bhat of Sajipa Munnur, was honoured during the occasion.
Catholics celebrate Nativity Feast on Sept 8th in Bantwala
Mangaluru: September 8 regarded as the Nativity or birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, by Catholics. For the Mangalorean Catholics, it is also celebrated as harvest day or Monthi Fest. On this day, Catholics assemble at their respective parishes to attend mass and honour Mother Mary.
