Meeting on Organ Donation and Transplant held at Deputy Commissioner Office

Mangaluru: Meeting on Organ Donation and Transplant took place at Deputy Commissioner office under the Chairmanship of Ms Sindhu B Rupesh IAS, DC DK District.

Dr Rajeshwari Devi District Medical Officer and Nodal Officer Jeevasarthakathe gave the progress report of the Organ Donation Program. Mr Lal Goel Chairman Organ Donation India Foundation appealed the DC to give full support for this noble cause. Dr Sachidanand Rai President IMA wanted the simplification of Brain Dead declaration procedures.

Dr Prasanth Marla, Medical Director A J Hospital mentioned the problems faced by the private hospitals. Dr Mujibur Rahiman, Urologist, Yennopya Medical College wanted more doctors to be approved for Brain Dead Declaration Committee. DC Ms Sandhu B Rupesh assured that all possible steps will be taken to increase the number of Organ Donation in DK District.

Dr Anand Venugopal, Medical Superintendent KMC Hospital, Major (Dr) Shivakumar Hiremath Medical Superintendent Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital, Dr Srinivas Nephrologist KMC Medical College Manipal, Mr Nelson Chief Transplant  Coordinator Yennopya Medical College, Dr Calvin and Reshma Carol  Transplant coordinators Father Muller Medical College, Ms Sangeetha Transplant Coordinator Indiana Hospital, Ms Laveena Dsoza and Ms Padmavathi Coordinators Jeevansarthakathe were present among others.
