The Sagarottara Kannadigaru (Overseas Kannadigas) celebrated its successful "Silver Jubilee" at the 25th interlocution Program.
The Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the program.
At the inauguration, he said "Covid pandemic has taught us a new way of leading life, and it is great to see that overseas Kannadigas have celebrated their silver jubilee. I am glad that we are all Kannadigas, we are developing Kannada in all parts of the world, as well as setting up our work offices all over the world."
"I welcome all suggestions from overseas Kannadigas for the development of India" he added.
Later, he felicitated Singer Sanvi Desai, and Music Director, John Kennedy.
Avadhuta Vinay Guruji, said "The Sagarottara Kannadigaru is a network through which all the overseas Kannadigas are united. Karnataka is a peace-loving state in the world. There is a lot of unemployment and poverty in Karnataka. We should strive to eliminate it."
He appreciated Overseas Kannadigas for helping the people of Karnataka during the tough times of Covid-19.
Gopala Kulkarni, vice president of the Sagarottara Kannadigas, hosted the event. Kumari Sanvi Desai sung the Overseas Kannadiga Song. The song was composed by Satya Ratnam, and music by young music director John Kennedy.
The reception was hosted by Chandrasekhar Lingadalli, President of the Overseas Kannadigas Organization.
Organizing secretary Hemegowda Madhu introduced Overseas Kannadigas by video.
Later, the treasurer of the forum, Basava Patil, spoke about the journey of the overseas Kannadigas forum and urged the non-resident Indians to speak Kannada at least once a month. and try to consume our domestic items and clothes and contribute to the development of trade and commerce of the native land.
He suggested that we "Try to translate our Kannada literature into different languages. There are plenty of people who are waiting for work and this will help find employment for them too."
Padmashree Mata Manjamma Jogati addressed the event and said "We are proud to state that Kannadigas are all over the world," she explained their difficulties to all and it was truly very touching.
"A lot of people from the media, the Kannada Sahitya Parishad, recognized my Padma Shri award as the blessing of all Kannadigas," she added.
AS Kiran Kumar, former President of ISRO, spoke on the occasion and said "ISRO is the world's best space organization, founded by Vikram Sarabhai and UR Rao. Dr. B N Suresh, Dr. K. N Sankara, SK Shivakumar, Dr. Ranganath Navalgunda, VR Katti, Prof Rajaram Nagappa from Karnataka have all worked at ISRO.
Former Vice-President of the Non-Resident Indians Committee, Aarthi Krishna, said "It is a matter of pride that the Kannada language and culture of Karnataka are spreading overseas. Kannadigas are paying a portion of their income to India, and overseas Kannadigas are making our country proud. No one is currently appointed Vice-President of the Non-Resident Indian Committee The government must look into this."
Rupa Iyer, said "it is a matter of pride that the Sagarottara Kannadigaru (Overseas Kannadigas) is celebrating its "silver jubilee" through its 25th conversation program. I am basically a filmmaker. There are a lot of opportunities for film shooting." She requested Kannada filmmakers and directors to utilize this opportunity.
The event was followed by a large number of non-resident Kannadigas.
Chandrasekhara Lingadalli from Gulf countries and Hemegowda Madhu from European countries hosted the event.
People from 40 countries participated in the program and made the event a success. Basava Patil, Treasurer of the Sagarottara Kannadigaru, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
The event was organized by President Chandrashekar Lingadalli (Dubai), Vice President Gopala Kulkarni (UK), Organizing secretary Hemegowda Madhu (Italy), Joint secretary Ravi Mahadev (Saudi Arabia), Treasurer Basava Patil (UK).
