Jnanajyoti Jesuit Brothers win Christmas Carols competition

Dubai: Jnanajyothi Jesuit Brothers from Anekal, Bengaluru bagged the first place in the prestigious Christmas Carols event organised by Spearhead Media Pvt. Ltd. (parent company of newskarnataka.com).

The six-day competition was held on the occasion of Christmas season and the winners were announced on Sunday, December 27.

While the first prize winners- Jnanajyothi Jesuit Brothers carried home a cash prize of Rs 9000 cash prize and certificates, the first runner up team was St. Josephite choir from Bengaluru bagged a cash prize of Rs 6,000 cash and certificate, followed by second runners up team- Skylarks, Mangaluru, who bagged a cash prize of Rs 3,000 along with the certificate.

Two special prizes from newskarnataka.com were given to Gloria of Excellence and Team Concordia. This special prize carried a cash reward of Rs 1,000 and certificates.

The show was compered by main programme host CA Valerian Dalmaida and co-host Rajesh Sequeira, live from Dubai.

 The judges of the show were Mr Rohan Correa, a musician and one of the founders of Konkani Prayer Group, Anitha Serrao, music composer and Rupert Vas, a well-known music composer and singer.

A total of 17 teams participated in the competition. The judges viewed all the videos sent by the teams and selected the top three winners.

As the magnificent event came to an end, the hosts thanked the judges and congratulated the winners. The co-host thanked all the audience, sponsors and judges of the show and signed off.
