UAE: The corporate team and staff members of Fortune group of hotels organises a blood donation drive ever year on May 22, to commemorate the wedding anniversary of Sarojini and Narayan Shetty- the proud parents of Praveen Shetty, Chairman of the enterprise. This year is their 54th wedding anniversary.
This year, the annual event was hosted at two venues – Fortune Plaza Hotel, Dubai (UAE) and at their newly opened 4-star hotel in Tbilisi (Georgia) – Fortune Palace Hotel -where a large number of team members gathered to donate blood.
This is the fifth year in succession that the Fortune group of hotels have been organising the blood donation camp successfully and this edition was made special as the team members from Georgia also donated blood.
The main aim of the drive is to spread awareness amongst the community about the importance of blood donation and how even a drop of blood can be instrumental in saving a life.
Mohan and Novi from KNRI (Karnataka NRI Forum) working committee and many other well-wishers of then Fortune family, guests and family workers of Fortune group of hotels were present.
Thanking the attendees, Shetty said, “Blood donation is our human duty. The blood you donate gives someone another chance at life. One day that someone may be a close relative, a friend, a loved one, or even you.” He especially thanked the efforts of all involved in organising the event, blood donors and the team of doctors, nurses and staff from Latifa Hospital – Blood donation center, Dubai – UAE and National Blood Bank, Georgia.
