Dhwani Pratishthana announces results of Global story competition

Dubai: Dhwani Pratishthana announced the results of the short story writing competition in Kannada conducted for nonresident Kannadigas as the valedictory program of the yearlong celebration of 35 glorious years in service for Kannada language outside Karnataka.

The results are as follows:

First prize goes to Kanakaraj Subramanyam Saudi Arabia (Akasha Jinke), second prize is shared by Dr Premalatha B., England (Tarka) and Irshad Moodabidri (Anaatha), third / consolation prize is shared between Rajani Bhat, Abu Dhabi (Tukkuhidida ATM), Dr Savitha Nataraj Basapura, Kuwait (Maralunaadinall Ondu Maneya Maadi) and Yashoda Bhat, Dubai (Subhadra). First prize consists of Rs 10,000 with citation, second prize is Rs 5,000 with citation and third prize is Rs 1,500 with citation.

Noted senior writers Vaidehi, K. Virabhadrappa and Chinthamani Kodlekere assisted as the judges of contest.

More than 150 entries were received. As per the conditions, only the stories from non resident kannadigas were considered for prizes. The winning stories along with other stories from eminent writers will be pubished in book format shortly, informed Prakash Rao Payyar, president of Dhwani Pratishthana.

Prakash thanked one and all for participating in the programme which made it a grand success.
