UAE: A young Emirati was taught a harsh lesson by local cops after he was caught driving over the centre island of a roundabout. The driver reportedly bulldozed a well-maintained patch of greenery with his pick-up truck and was asked to do some community service as punishment.
In the video posted by the Abu Dhabi police on Instagram, the young motorist is seen recklessly manoeuvring over a patch of grass that covers the roundabout.

In order to reprimand him for such a brazen traffic violation, a public prosecutor asked him to carry out community service.
The second half of the video shows the motorist scrubbing the road and re-patching the grass that he had ruined earlier with his antics.
The Abu Dhabi Police have conveyed that all motorists who are found violating traffic laws will be punished according to the law.
Apart from imposing fines, the police also frequently mete out community service sentences as part of the punishment.
By posting this video, the police have sought to warn motorists that driving recklessly can get them into some serious trouble with the law.
