With temperature rises prices of vegetables, pulses and meat

Mysuru: Due to the unforgiving heat of the summer, the vegetables and pulses crops in several parts of the state have completely gone dry. Because of this, the prices of the vegetables and pulses are skyrocketing, according to reports here on Tuesday, April 23.

Except eggplant, cabbage, drumsticks and onions, rest of the vegetables are becoming expensive.

As the supply of tomatoes in the market has decreased, the rates have hit Rs 30 per kilo. On the other hand it has reached Rs 44 in Horticultural Producers’ Co-operative Marketing and Processing Society Ltd (HOPCOMS) and in retail market it is ranging from Rs 40 to 60 per kilo.

Beans has reached to a whopping Rs 100 per kilo in the market. It has not decreased even in Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) as the price is Rs 70 per kilo. In HOPCOMS, it is around Rs 82 per kilo.

Carrots are Rs 30 per kilo which was Rs 28 and Green Chilli is Rs 45 from Rs 40.

Pulses like Toor Dal, Urad Dal, Moong Dal and others too have also seen a fluctuation in price.

In APMC, it is Rs 78 to Rs 80 per kilo against the earlier Rs 82. Urad Dal has come down to Rs 78 per kilo. Moong Dal has seen a slight rise from Rs 74 to Rs 76 per kilo. Green Gram has continued to be at Rs 74 per kilo.

Meanwhile, the price of chicken has gone from Rs 88 to Rs 101 a kilo. But the egg rates have seen a slight decrease with one egg costing Rs 3.50 which was earlier Rs 3.65.
