Mysore: If you think the school compound has developed cracks owing to an earthquake, you are wrong. Its the proof of shoddy works.
Its the compound hall constructed at a local school under NREGA project by Hampapura gram panchayat in H D Kote taluk. The compound wall built just 2 – 3 months ago has developed cracks. The people mock why the crack developed without any earthquake.
The schools are reopening on June 1. The school has classes from Class I to Class VIII. Who would be responsible if the compound wall collapses when the students play in the premises? Why the need for undertaking shoddy works? The concerned authorities are required to take early action in order to avoid loss of life or possible injury to the unwary students. The parents caution of staging the protest if the authorities delay in taking action in this regard.
