Mysuru: Dhyan and Suhas from Sadvidya School, Mysuru emerged as the winners at the inter-school health quiz for the students of Class 8 and 9, which was conducted at Columbia Asia Hospital premises, here on Sunday. The event was held as part of Women’s Heart Day celebration by Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru in association with Cardiological Society of India (CSI), Mysuru Chapter, with the objective to educate young minds about the symptoms of heart diseases and sensitize them about the women’s heart disease and the need to take care of one’s heart by leading healthy lifestyle.
A total of 13 schools participated in the inter-school quiz competition with 44 teams and 88 participants. The competition also had an audience round and prelims before the selection of the six finalists for the stage round.
Dhyan and Suhas from Sadvidya School, Mysuru who emerged as the winners were awarded Rs 10,000 as cash prize and attractive trophies while Likitha and Ishani from St. Joseph’s Central School, Yelwal who emerged as runner-up took home Rs 7000 and trophy.
C Kusum, ninth standard of Baden Powel School, who also took part in the competition said that the quiz was different as it focused on a particular aspect, while other quiz events are based on general aspects.
The experts also briefed the participants about importance of nutrition and good eating habits and called upon the students not to restrict themselves indoor and instead take up outdoor activities.
