Mysuru: Speculations are on the rise after the Health Department portfolio was taken away from B Sriramulu and given to Minister for Medical Education Dr K Sudhakar.
Responding to the same, Dr Sudhakar has clarified that the shuffle in no way means a setback for Sriramulu.
“This is an administrative procedure. It does not mean that someone was not able to handle the department efficiently,” he said, adding that everyone has worked very hard during the Corona crisis and hence, no individual should be targeted.
Speaking further, Dr Sudhakar said that the health department is a challenging department and that the Chief Minister has given him the additional charge of the department, thereby reposing a lot of trust in him. He opined that the Medical and Health department must work as one unit.
“Since I have been exposed to the challenges of the COVID times, a lot of work needs to be done now. We have to focus on bringing down the COVID mortality and also the number of cases,” he said.
