Myrusu: Four employees of a supermarket in Chamundipuram were arrested by the Krishnaraja Police for denying entry and food supplies to students from Nagaland.
The arrested accused are customer service associate Manjunath (32), IT maintenance staff Naveen (30), manager Avinash (26) and staffer Revanna (30).
It can be recalled that recently, two Naga students had gone to the More supermarket to purchase groceries and were waiting in the queue. The staff present at the supermarket denied entry to the based on their race and sent them back.

After a video of this incident viral, police launched an investigation and checked the CCTV footage to confirm the allegations. They then arrested the four and registered a case against them under IPC Sections 153 A(1) (B), 341, 188, 268 and R/w- 290 based on instructions from the City Crime Branch (CCB) ACP.
In a tweet, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha informed that he had received a call from Meghalaya CM Conrad Kongkal Sangma regarding the incident. He stated that he apologised to CM Conrad and the Naga students on behalf of all Mysureans.
