Mysuru: Former president of India APJ Abdul Kalam once said, “If four things are followed – having a great aim, acquiring knowledge, hard work, and perseverance – then anything can be achieved”. This saying has become a reality in the life of a girl named Chandana M R.

Chandana is a daughter of tea seller named Rajendra Kumar. She dreams of becoming the army chief in future.

As she keeps the first step towards learning the coveted uniform, she has managed to achieve a milestone by becoming the first girl from the district to be selected for the 2019 Republic Day parade at Rajpath.

Being an NCC cadet, she has managed to make her way among the 1800 participants from the country who were selected for the parade.

Speaking to one of the English dailies she said that it was her dream and that she got an opportunity to live the dream. She said, she was fighting tears after participating in the parade.

Meanwhile, her mother Puspalatha too has expressed joy over her daughter’s achievement.
