Mysuru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has slammed the Mysuru Bar Association’s (MBA) decision to refuse support to University of Mysore alumna Nalini Balakumar, who had held a placard with the slogan “Free Kashmir” during the protest against the JNU violence.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, January 22, he said, “It is unconstitutional on the part of the Mysuru Bar Association to not support Nalini. They have no right to take such a decision. There is nothing wrong in Nalini raising the slogan ‘Free Kashmir’ as even today, there is an emergency-like situation in Kashmir.”

Meanwhile, responding to queries about MIA bomb scare prime suspect Aditya Rao’s arrest, he said, “I don’t have complete information on it. I don’t like to speak with half knowledge. Nevertheless, I urge for a thorough probe into the matter.”
