JSS Science and Technology University’s first convocation on Nov 17

Mysuru: The first convocation of JSS Science and Technology University which was established in 2016 and 9th graduation day of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) will be held at SJCE campus on November 17 and 18 respectively.

Sangameshwar, Vice Chancellor of JSS Science and Technology University, said, “During the convocation, 149 M Tech, 96 MBA, 24 Corporate Finance candidates will be receiving the degree. 13 Medals will be awarded to the students who have secured highest marks in M Tech’s respective branches and 4 endowment medals will also be given. Degree and medals for the achievers of all the branches will be conferred by Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami, Chancellor, JSS Science and Technology University. A Surya Prakash, Chairman, Prasar Bharathi Board, Government of India, New Delhi will be the chief guest and deliver the first convocation address on November 17 at 11 AM.”

“JSS Science and Technology University was established as a unitary university on January 16, 2016 and Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) which was established in 1963 is now a part of it. The university offers 15 undergraduate, 27 post graduate, 4 evening undergraduate and doctoral programmes in all disciplines. Around 6,000 students pursue their career on this campus. We have IP Cell to develop and create patents; already six projects are there for patents and two are in the pipeline. In the last two years, that is since the university was established, by introducing various courses in science, technology and management, we were able to get 3000 more students taking their overall strength to nearly 6000. As for campus recruitment, this year, already 80 percent of the students have been placed. The highest pay is Rs 27 Lakh per annum for two students. There are nearly 20 students with salaries ranging from Rs 15 Lakh to Rs 20 Lakh while the average salary is between Rs 6 Lakh to Rs 8 Lakh per annum. Already 84 companies have visited the university and 35 more companies are expected in days to come. K N Udaykumar, Controller of Examinations will Administer the Oath on the degree holders.

Mysuru: Sri Jayachamarajendra College will be celebrating its ‘9th Graduation Day Ceremony’ at its premise on Sunday at 3 PM. T N Nagabhushana, Principal of SJCE said, “Around 857 BE, 2 MTech, 69 MCA and 6 MBA candidates will be getting the degrees. On the occasion, 23 medals will be awarded to the students, out of which 13 medals are for the students who have scored highest marks in respective branches of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses and 10 endowment medals will also be awarded. Medals for the achievers of all the branches will be awarded by Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami, President, JSS Mahavidyapeetha. Ashok Dalwai, Chief Executive Officer, National Rainfed Area Authority, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi will be the chief guest and deliver the 9th Graduation Day address.” B G Sangameshwara, Vice Chancellor, JSS Science and Technology University will administer the oath to the graduates. C Ranganathaiah, Director (TED), would be present besides the deans of different programmes. Nagabhushan also mentioned that SJCE is also conducting training for aspirants of those who want to take up GATE.
