Mysuru: The air show organized by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in association with Mysuru Dasara, attracted a huge crowd at tthe Bannimantap Grounds here on Wednesday, October 2.
At first, the IAF choppers released rose petals while in the air, a move known as ‘petal wrapping.’
A mock demonstration on how the IAF handles its operations was also shown through a helicopter from which around six soldiers were deployed through ‘fast roping’ technique.
Sky diving was also presented by 10 IAF members from the “Akashganga” team, who jumped from a height of 7000 feet and landed on the Bannimantap Grounds, with the help of tri-coloured parachutes.
The team included Master Warrant Officer S S Yadav, Squadron leader Aftab Khan, Junior Warrant Officer Mukhesh, Sergeants Salaria, Chauhan, Yadav from Karnataka, Avinash and Anasari.
Later, the Fire Department showcased its water maneuvers by sprinkling water for long distances.
Around 23 soldiers were felicitated by Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G, with shields representing the Mysuru Dasara tradition.
District in-charge Minister V Somanna, Member of Parliament Pratap Simha, Mysuru Police Commissioner K T Balakrishna, retired wing commander Shree Kumar and others were present.
