Mysuru: MLA G T Deve Gowda has cautioned former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to “measure his words while making any statements”.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, December 11, he said, “HDK, who became the Chief Minister of the state twice, had a great fan following. Now, because of his diction and damaging statements, his followers and supporters are very hurt. It is high time that he understands what he is saying and speaks carefully. It applies both to when he is addressing a public gathering and on when he is tweeting.”
Taking a jibe at HDK and the other JD(S) leaders, GTD said, “Before the Assembly by-polls, I had clearly told them that the Congress is going to win in the Hunsur constituency. I had informed JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda in the month of July itself, that the Congress’ roots cannot be shaken in Hunsur. Now, they called me a ‘backstabber’ because I was proven right. This is not right.”
He also slammed the party high command by saying, “My son, Harish Gowda is not a part of any political party. It is possible that he might have worked for the Congress. How can you say that he committed a mistake?”
Meanwhile, he clarified about the BJP’s losing candidate in Hunsur, A H Vishwanath saying, “Vishwanath had not discussed with me about contesting from Hunsur on the BJP ticket. He had decided to contest at the last moment, which resulted in his defeat.”
