Mysuru: The hotel owners of Mysuru have come forward to promote compulsory voting and have declared that they would provide food at 50 per cent discount for the first time voters.
The hotel owners around the city were trying to create awareness among the public by pasting posters in their restaurants, hotels, and lodges.
The quotes in these posters read “remember to cast your vote, save democracy” in both English and Kannada languages.
In a few hotels and guest houses, a discount of 50 per cent on tariff has been offered for a couple above 60 years of age. The hotels would be allotting rooms to outsiders only after checking whether they have voted.
In some hotels, common people would be offered a discount of 20 to 30%.
