Mysuru: Farmers protesting a reduction in vegetable prices dumped crates of tomatoes, cauliflowers and other veggies on the streets near APMC Market, Mysuru on Thursday, October 24.
The farmers were also irked by the lack of proper storage facilities due to heavy rains lashing several parts of Karnataka.
Speaking to ANI, APMC Market president said, “Due to heavy rain and the decrease of prices of beans, cauliflowers, and tomatoes, the farmers have thrown them out and left them on the roads. We are trying to hold a discussion with the vendors on cleaning the market and bringing stability in vegetable prices.”
Vegetables were strewn all over the market area as a result of the farmers’ protest.
