Newskarnataka – Mysore
Mysore : Rumours are doing the rounds that former minister SA Ramdas would shortly quit the BJP to join the Janata Dal(S). This news is making waves even as less than a day is left for the counting of votes.
It may be mentioned here that Ramdas did not get due recognition in the party ever since his defeat in the previous assembly elections. Though he was made the in-charge of Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency and was doing his little bit, a love affair that stood exposed, left him shattered eventually forcing him to attempt suicide after Prema Kumari made public that Ramdas had married him but was not leading a life with her.
Though Ramdas survived the suicide attempt and upon recovery took part in campaigning, the BJP did not accept him as earlier. Moreover, his close proximity with Congress candidate AH Vishwanath also came in his way.
All these developments and also the feeling that the BJP leaders were trying to keep him at bay has made Ramdas decide to join the JD(S).
Sources said he has already held talks with senior JD(S) Leader YSV Dutta and that even KR Nagara MLA S.R Mahesh and Chamundeshwari MLA GT Deve Gowda are backing him in his move.
