E-stamping centre inaugurated at Court Complex

Mysuru: Cooperation Minister H.S. Mahadevaprasad inaugurated an E-stamping Centre in the Mysore Court Complex premises on Thursday August 6.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the E-stamping Centre was essential in the Court Complex as many clients from various parts of the district visit the Court everyday for getting various documents including affidavits done. “Till now, people visiting the Court had to run around various places to procure e-stamp papers and now that a centre has been opened in the Court premises it would help people to get the e-stamp papers much faster”, he added.

The Minister said that there were 606 E-stamping Centres in the state and the one inaugurated in the Court complex was the 607th.

On this occasion, the office-bearers of Mysore BAR Council submitted a memorandum to Minister Mahadevaprasad to allot land for the Mysuru City Advocates Multi-purpose Co-operative Society building for which the Minister asked the council to identify a land assuring to provide the required facilities from his department.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Vasu said that CM Siddharamaiah, who had earlier worked as one of the office-bearers of Mysore BAR Assn., had earmarked Rs. 2 crore in this year’s budget for the development of the BAR Council. Vasu announced that he would release Rs. 25 lakh from his MLA funds for building of the proposed Advocates Multipurpose Society building.

Adding that he had a close association with the Court, MLA Vasu remembered how he was helped by the advocates free of cost to fight around 135 cases booked against him during his student days. He also said that cases of grabbing Government properties had increased in the recent past and added that it was the duty of the various organisations, including Mysore BAR Council, to work towards safeguarding properties along with the government agencies.

The Mysore BAR Association and Mysore City Advocates Multipurpose Co-op. Society felicitated Mahadevaprasad and Vasu on the occasion. Mysore BAR Association President B.R. Chandramouli, Federation of Karnataka State Credit Co-op. Societies President S. Chandrashekar, Karnataka State BAR Council members C.M. Jagadish and C. Appaji Gowda, Mysore BAR Association’s S. Srikrishna and Mysuru City Advocates Multi-purpose Co-op. Society VP N.P. Ramesh were present.
