Mysuru: Even though former minister H Vishwanath was denied a ticket to contest in the Legislative Council, he has expressed his confidence that he will be nominated to the state’s upper house.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, June 20, Vishwanath clarified that he has no hard feelings about being denied a ticket. “As base level party workers have been selected for tickets, I will welcome the party’s move. Sometimes, we receive more than our expectation and sometimes we are unable to secure it. I am a writer and my writings are related to politics. Hence, I appealed to be nominated to the Council from the literature field. There are no issues to nominate me from literature field,” he said.
Responding to a query on former chief minister Siddaramaiah’s statement, Vishwanath said, “Though I was denied a ticket, I won’t recall Siddaramaiah. He was able to become Chief Minister only because of me as I introduced him to the Congress. However, he did not reveal it anywhere. I will reveal how Siddaramaiah hatched a plan to deny me a ticket when the time comes.”
