Mysuru: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah has criticised Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, claiming that he had violated the electoral Model Code of Conduct.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, November 16, Siddaramaiah said, “BSY has violated the electoral Model Code of Conduct by assuring some of the disqualified MLAs that he would give them a ministerial berth in his government. On the other hand, around 30,000 sarees have been found which is said to be in the name of BJP MLA C P Yogeshwar. BSY will stoop to any level in a desperate attempt to win the upcoming by-polls.”

Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah opined that the BJP would not succeed in its attempts to win 8 out of 15 assembly seats, as predicted by their party leaders.

It can be recalled that all the 15 MLAs had officially joined the BJP on Thursday, November 14, in presence of BJP Karnataka in-charge Muralidhar Rao, CM BSY, BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, and other party leaders.

The Karnataka Assembly by-poll will be held on December 5 and the counting is scheduled on December 9.
