Blaming Modi is like trying to spit at the sky: MP Pratap Simha

Mysuru: With the opposition parties alleging Prime Minister Modi of meting out step-motherly treatment towards the state when it came to responding to the flood situation, Mysuru MP Pratap Simha has shot back saying that the ones who resort to blaming Modi are basically spitting up at the sky!

Simha said, “If you try to spit at the sky, it is you who will get dirty. Opposition leaders, who used to spend time blaming the opposition leader, are now blaming the PM.”

“Is this going to yield anything? What was the progress on the Cauvery and Mahadayi river issues when there were 17 MPs?” he added.

“The opposition says that the Prime Minister has not tweeted about the flood situation in Karnataka and has tweeted about Bihar floods. Have you forgotten that Home Minister Amit Shah was sent to the state by Modi? They say that the MPs are scared of the PM. We are here to do our work. Why should we be scared to do our work? These statements against Modi will not yield any results,” he said.

He clarified that at least 11 states in the country are reeling under floods and several states have not yet received the flood relief funds. “Since the state was first hit by drought, a study team made recommendations to the state about the drought situation. Hence the drought relief has been released. With Amit Shah having seen the plight of the state, the flood relief will reach the state soon,” he said.
