All India Official Language Conference to be held at AIISH Mysuru from Oct 30

Mysuru: The three-day All India Eighth Official Language Conference under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi will be held at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru from October 30 to November 1.

The conference will be inaugurated at the Seminar Hall, Knowledge Park, AIISH Main Campus on October 30, 9:30 am.

The main theme of the conference is ‘India, Indianism, and excellence of Indian languages’, highlighting the interrelationship of Indian Languages and their relevance in the context of socio-cultural, literary, and scientific fields.

UP Government Public Works Department Special Secretary Chandra Bhushan Tripati will be the chief guest of the event and AIISH Mysuru Director M Pushpavathi will preside over the programme.

The conference is set to be especially significant this year given the recent controversy surrounding India’s official language. The conference will comprise lectures delivered by eminent scholars from across the country. IAS Chandra Bhushan Tripati will speak on Sanskrit as a base for various Indian languages while former Prasaranga University of Mysore Director Lakshminarayana Aurora will focus on the contributions of Kannada literary personalities, scholars and language experts in the propagation of the Hindi language and literature. Director Vedprakash Dubey will throw light on the compliance of the official language Hindi in the Indian Constitution as well as the role of Hindi and Indian culture in the global context.

Deputy Director (OL) Rajesh Srivastav on the new techniques of Hindi typing and translation software, Indi typing and the translation practical orientation on the correct usage of the Hindi language.

Associate Professor N Swapna will speak on the topic ‘Speech and Language – Causes and Cures’ while Associate Professor Sujeet Kumar will deliver a lecture on hearing problems and their solutions.
