Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, for whom conducting the Dasara celebration amidst the COVID pandemic was a huge challenge has heaved a sigh of relief.
After the successful Dasara celebration, the DC turned to Goddess Chamundeshwari, on Wednesday evening and fulfilled her vow.
The DC, along with her family husband Sudhir Reddy, mother and little daughter pulled the ‘Pallaki Ratha’ or the palanquin chariot of Goddess Chamundeshwari.
As per reports, the DC came over to the hilltop temple on Wednesday evening and performed the ‘seva’ soon after the last event of Dasara, ie ‘Jumbo Savari’ was over.
It may be recalled that appointment of Sindhuri to the post of Mysuru DC had stoked a row because her predecessor B Sharat was removed from the post even before he could complete one month.
Even before taking charge as Mysuru DC, she had visited the temple and sought the blessings of Goddess Chamundeshwari.
As per government sources, Sindhuri was posted to Mysuru to specifically conduct the world famous Dasara and also to chalk out strategies to control spiking Corona cases.
