Mangaluru: “A journey to self to good health, peace and happiness through Yoga is worth a try“, says successful, professional Yoga teacher and an international Yoga examiner G Devika Purushotham.
As a part of the International Yoga Day celebration, Devika would be offering free yoga classes for two months for ladies from June 12 to August 12 at Subramanya Sabha, Jail Road, opposite Pio Mall in the city.
About Devika Purushotham
Devika Purushotham has received Masters in Yoga. She is proud to have received training under the famous international Guru, Padma Vibhushan Dr. B K S Iyengar of the Ramamani Yoga Institute, Pune.
Her prescription of Yoga Asanas and Pranayamas is given after she conducts a thorough check-up and counselling. Besides training hundreds of Yoga enthusiasts and medical professionals, she also treats people with physical ailments such as joint pain, diabetes, low BP, hypertension, arthritis, thyroid, chest ailments, acidity, migraine and spondylitis. Patients have positively reciprocated to the exercises that she prescribed.
Devika has worked in the lives of mentally challenged persons too. She has treated and trained autistic people to live a normal, healthy life.
Personal attention, love and care have won her the cooperation of restless students who have seen a drastic improvement in their life. Among her beneficiaries are people with depression, anxiety, dyslexia, OCD, bi -polar disorders and panic attacks.
With her specialised training in prenatal and postnatal Yoga, she has trained many patients for a painless delivery. She has received a lot of appreciation and awards for her devotion and dedication towards people who go to her for succour and strength.
Devika is a simple teacher but with high levels of achievement. She has been an Asian examiner and coach at three international competitions in India and recently she has received a high distinction at the Professional International Yoga Teachers’ Examination conducted by the Ministry of AYUSH Department of India.
