Woman from Boloor succumbs to COVID-19; DK district’s death toll rises to 4

Mangaluru: The 58-year-old woman from Boloor who tested positive for Covid-19 on April 30, succumbed on Wednesday, May 13.

This is the Dakshina Kannada district’s fourth death caused by COVID-19.

It is believed that the deceased woman was infected with the novel coronavirus by a sweeper who was working at the First Neuro Hospital in Padil.

Apart from having COVID-19, the woman was also suffering from issues of the brain and she was in a critical condition after getting infected. She was being treated in the Wenlock Hospital’s ICU. After failing to respond to the treatment, the woman passed away in the noon.

It can be recalled that three women from the Kasba village of the Bantwal taluk had succumbed to COVID-19 previously.
