Mangaluru: The city may face some inconvenience as the door-to-door waste collection by Anthony Waste Handling Cell Pvt Ltd may be hit due to the non-availability of manpower.

Most of the people working for the Anthony Waste Handling company are outsiders who have gone back to their places to cast votes, on Wednesday April 23 in wake of the II Phase of polls in the state which is being held in the northern belt of the state covering the entire Hyderabad-Karnataka, Mumbai-Karnataka, couple of central districts and coastal Uttara Kannada.

The company has said that since the workers may be returning on Thursday or Friday, the waste collection will be affected for two days.

When Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath informed about the same to Deputy Commissioner S Sasikanth Senthil, he assured of instructing Antony waste handling company to take other alternative measures.
