Mangaluru: In a horrific incident, three labourers died in a landslide at Odiyoor near Kanyana in Vittal, on Saturday, December 7.
The deceased have been identified as Balappa Naik (56), resident of Alangar in Kasba village, Prakash (35), a resident of Manila village and Ramesh (50), a resident of Kapumajalu.
According to the police sources, the incident occurred when the workers were engaged in excavating a hillock. The hill caved in leaving labourers buried in loose mud.
Though efforts were made to rescue the labourers, they succeeded to rescue only one person among the four, sources said.
