Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has warned that criminal cases will be filed against those who install flex boards and banners illegally and added that permission will be granted only for digital boards.

A press statement released by the MCC informed that, in the backdrop of the Dasara festival, people have been placing flex boards and banners in and around the city without obtaining prior permission. As such items ruin the beauty of the city, the MCC has decided not to give permission for the same. It has decided to permit the use of digital advertisement boards only, for a temporary period. If anyone is found violating the guidelines, a criminal case will be filed against them, the press release informed.

The release also stated that the MCC will soon launch a drive against illegal flex boards and banners. If such illegal banners cause any mishaps, the person who installed the same will be held responsible, the press release warned.
