Mangaluru: The Karnataka Drama Academy, Bengaluru and Coastal Karnataka Theatre Artists’ service council are jointly organising a program on World Theatre Day at Abhaya Akrama, Asaigoli, on March 27.
At a press meet held today, the members of the council announced that cultural programs such as Kudroli Ganesh’s magic performance and mimicry and musical orchestra will be performed on the day.
Theatre artists Girish Pilar and Dinesh R Shettijar will be felicitated on the occasion.
The council was created to safeguard the interest of the theatre artists in the district.
The members in the press conference also informed that recently, new office bearers were selected in the auditorium of Padua High School led by Ramesh Rai Kukkukalli, Chidananda Priyapala. The council was inaugurated by artist Vijaya Kumar Kodiyabile. A council committee was formed under the chairmanship of Devadas Kapikad. Mohanadasa Kothari was elected unanimously to the post of President.
President Mohan Das Kottari Munoor Secretary Rajesh Kannur and Vice President Sunita Ekur were present at the press conference.
