Mangaluru: As the number of covid cases are increasing per day the rural areas, District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary indicated that the Task Force Committee should be vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of infection of the Coronavirus.

Through a video conference at the District Panchayat Office, he addressed at the Covid Panel meeting with members of the Belthangady Taluk, Gram Panchayat Chairpersons, Vice Presidents and Development Officers.

He suggested that Asha operatives should visit Covid patients under home isolations every day to check their pulses with the help of a pulsar oximeter. If the patients are in the need of hospitalisation, they must be immediately transferred to Covid Care Centre as they would be unable to stay with other members of the household.

He proposed to start a National Employment Scheme that would provide employment to the poor and carry out permanent development work. He advised the rural masses to work on raising awareness for Covid infection and also to ensure that the regular Covid safety protocols are adhered to while maintaining the government guidelines. He also urged the commoners and officials to take action in ensuring that every eligible beneficiary receives ration. He added that social distancing is a must while receiving ration food.

At a daily Task Force meeting, facilities for the corona virus infected and identification of their needs and delivery of those provisions were discussed.

MLA Harish Poonja said that 10 pulse oximeters would be given to each village panchayat soon. District Panchayat Chief Executive Offiver Dr Kumar told that medical kits shall be distributed to patients suffering shortage from next week onwards.
