SVEEP uses Patla’s Yakshagana song to create voting awareness

Mangaluru: Patla Sathish Shetty, a big name in Yakshgana Bhagavatha (playback singing) is now persuading people to cast their precious votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Yakshagana art is very famous in the coastal district and Patla Sathish Shetty has achieved tremendous success in the Yakshagana Bhagavatha. Patla has tried his luck in Tulu film industry also as a singer. He has lakhs of fans for his Yakshagana songs. Hence, the district committee of SVEEP (Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation) has planned to utlise Yakshgana song and Patla Sathish Shetty to create awareness among the public about the voting right.

The lyrics of the song ‘Vote Bantu Vote Banthu Dennana Dennana’ is penned by writer Navaneeth Shetty Kadri and the duration of the song is around three-and-half minutes. Through the song, he asks the public not to sit idle at home during the election day on April 18 and insists that they cast their valuable votes. The song also reminds the public to keep alive democracy through voting.

The SVEEP district committee has already started playing this song in the district.
