Students from Kasargod commit suicide in Mangaluru hotel room

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, two students committed suicide by consuming poison in a hotel room near the Mangaluru Railway Station here on Sunday, October 13.

The deceased have been identified as Vishnu (22) and Greeshma (23), both residents of the Kasargod district of Kerala.

Sources from the police department said that both Vishnu and Greeshma were students in a college in Moodbidri and were in love. However, both their families did not approve of their relationship as they belonged to different castes.

On Sunday, October 13, the young couple came to Mangaluru and rented a room in a hotel near the Mangaluru Central Railway station and consumed poison, ending their lives.

The Pandeshwar police have registered a case in this regard and have begun their investigation.
