Mangaluru: Stany Lobo, Bantwal has been elected president of Catholic Sabha, Mangaluru Pradesh for the year of 2020-21.
The election was held at Bishop’s House here on Sunday, December 13 during the annual delegates’ conference of the Catholic Sabha.
Raju Stephan D’Souza Kumbla was elected designated president.
Other elected members are Stevan Rodrigues, Valencia (vice-president), Alphonse Fernandes, Bantwal (general secretary), Deepak D’Souza, Milagres (joint secretary), Mebida Rodrigues, Balakunje (treasurer).
Fr Mathew Vas is the Spiritual Director.
Stany Lobo, Bantwal has already served as president of Catholic Sabha, Bantwal Deanery. He is popular in Bantwal region for his community service.
Raju Stephen is a well-known face in the Konkani speaking Catholic community in Kasargod district. He has served as the president of ICYM, Catholic Sabha in Kasargod deanery. He is the founder president of Bela Cooperative Society and is also a member of Kerala Tulu Sahitya Academy.
Fr Mathew Vas conducted a prayer meeting before installing the new office-bearers. Rolphie D’Costa, the outgoing president, thanked all the units and members for supporting him in his tenure.
