Mangaluru: Four Bachelor of Engineering programmes by St. Joseph’s Engineering College was re-accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi for a period of three years from July 2019 to June 2022.

The NBA Expert Team had visited the college on 22nd March 2019 and assessed the four departments of Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

The NBA team lauded the infrastructure, management, faculty, student contributions and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices adopted in the college. OBE is the quality assurance mechanism adopted for engineering programmes by NBA when India became a signatory of the Washington Accord in June 2014.

The four programmes were first accredited under OBE by NBA in November 2013 and thereafter re-accredited in June 2016 for a period of three years. With the current achievement, these four programmes join an elite class of programmes having continuous accreditation status under OBE for six years (2016 to 2022), in Karnataka. The college is committed to offering education of the highest quality to all its students and actively working towards accreditation of all its programmes in the near future.

The college is completing 17 years of its existence and currently has more than 2500 students on campus. It has become the destination of choice for engineering seat aspirants in the coastal region. Candidates are attracted to the good infrastructure, academic ambience, discipline on campus, excellent placements, competent faculty and encouragement for technical, cultural and sports activities.
